You both keep saying Anastasia like Anna-stasia but all I want to do is yell to you it’s Ana-stasia because I’ve always heard it said more as Ana than Anna. 🙂
Yes you can technically count Leia as a Disney princess now but I would put an asterisk on her because she’s not animation or live action Disney facility created one, she was purchased so it’s not the same.
I must admit I’ve never seen this film, I’ve thought about watching it a few times when I saw it on back in the day but I just never have…I more so know the story of her than the movie’s version. I am curious what the movie does with her – is she real in this alternate take or is she an imposter…is it left up to the audience to decide for themselves? 🙂 The real story is very interesting and I think the mystery is what helped keep it going for so long and makes it memorable; if soaps taught people anything it’s no body, no death so it’s no wonder some believed as long as they did and even with the testing when you want it to be true so much you can say well maybe they got it wrong. 🙂
You convinced me to listen to the soundtrack at the least so here’s my thoughts on the music debate…
I did not know “At The Beginning” was in this movie or for this movie, I always thought this was just a song from the artist not made for the movie that got big. I have to say it was probably my favorite but since it doesn’t say movie to me like others, because I see this more still as a radio hit for Richard Marx than movie song, I would have to say the one I most enjoyed would be “There’s A Rumor in St. Petersburg” because it felt like the one I could most listen to on repeat beyond “At The Beginning”. 🙂 “Once Upon A December” was really good though too so it would be after Rumor probably!
My question is who are you going to do after Pocahontas and Mulan because they basically are the real life adaptations, everyone else is a creation or story based character to start with, such as Cinderella. 🙂 You could maybe do events also but for characters they’re really it as far as I know.
Once again thank you for the fantastic feedback, and for listening! That means a lot to us.
I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the soundtrack, it is awesome!
The 1997 animated film does imply that the lead character is the real Anastasia. We did recently watch the 1950s version, and that movie ends with some ambiguity. I think they want you to believe it is her, but it’s not like the animated version which is all fiction.
