The Sandbox Episode 54 – The Singularity Review
Being out in the field didn’t stop Fitz and Simmons from taking the next step in their relationship in this week’s Agents of SHIELD episode, The Singularity. But then again, going after the scientist in Bucharest didn’t stop Hive from acquiring him to duplicate the Cree experiment. Talk about world conquest!
Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for The Singularity, Faith’s CoulSass moments, and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about the strange relationship between Hive and Daisy, the argument between Coulson and May, the wonderful dynamics between Mack and FitzSimmons, and – of course – the big moment for the scientist couple!

Firstly, thank you for the Iain in a suit picture as the screencap, it’s very lovely. 🙂
On to the podcast now…
Nice “Orphan Black” shout out in the opening!
It was an okay episode, but I wouldn’t say it rocked. “How can she be Daisy, but her motivations have changed?” – maybe it’s like these are thoughts Daisy has had, but she would normally never act on them however with Hive controlling her now she does act on them so it’s her but it’s not at the same time. Sort of like Supergirl on red kryptonite if you saw that episode.
I agree with Dave, they need various enemies; Hydra can be the series long bad guy but they need others to add variety each season. While Mack and Fitz are a nice duo to see, I’d still love to see Simmons with her girl Daisy again; that relationship has sadly been basically non existent this season and I don’t understand why exactly. Hopefully “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” won’t do bad like “The 100”.
Was James meant to be their version of Pyro? I vote for “Murder Vest” in the CoulSass poll.
I missed the Captain America trading card moment with Coulson at the end, that’s a cool callback as well. Too much Fitzsimmons romance stuff for my liking in this episode. Only four left, can we keep Elena away until next season then?
