627- Daily Bread for Daily Needs

The Bible is alive, it does speak to me. As I read it and go through my day, it shapes my thoughts and actions. It challenges me to grow in every part of my life, teaches me how to be a better husband, father, and worker. It teaches me about the character of God, morality, history, how to manage money, and so much more. It reveals my shortcomings and transforms my mind.

S3E20 6:02 AM EST

Happy 2025, cortexifans! Join us this week as we discuss the first third of what is essentially a three-part finale! We share our thoughts on the episode and how we retroactively see the episode as mostly a setup.

Quick Draw

This month we’re heading to the old west with Mr. Denton on Doomsday and Showdown with Rance McGrew. Both episodes share themes about facing consequences and getting a second chances. One of the episodes hit close to home for us and had some poignant moments, while the other’s comedic efforts landed more for one of us than the other.

626- Monday Mailbag

Today is Monday Mailbag day and we have contribution from John. Here’s John’s submission.

625- Committing to Growth

During the second quarter of a football game last season as the crowd was raucously cheering on the home team, my friend leaned over to me and said, “Can I ask you a question?” “Sure,” I said. “What’s the secret to raising girls?” Of all the questions he could have asked me in that moment, I never would have guessed that would be it.

S3E19 Lysergic Acid Diethylamide

Let’s make some LSD! Join us this week as guest Damon is with us to discuss this special season 3 episode of Fringe! We nerd out over the animated portions of the episode, all of the Easter eggs, the complexity of the episode’s plot and premise, how a certain Broyles scene now hits us differently, and SO much more!

SB103 – S6E2 – Window of Opportunity

SB103 – S6E2 – Window of Opportunity

“Window of Opportunity” introduced a whole new dynamic to Agents of SHIELD as we learned more about Sarge and his team through the subtle use of hints dropped into their dialogue. With Fitz just missing Simmons out in space, his path to redemption hearkens back to his troubles in season 4, creating a nice bit of dissonance for the journey of Fitz and Enoch.

Join us for show news, commentary and analysis for “Window of Opportunity,” Faith’s CoulSass moments (skipping this week again), and our listener feedback segment! This week we talk about Snowflake’s bloodthirstiness, May’s bravado, Sarge’s catch phrase, Pax’s rebelliousness, Dr. Benson’s dissatisfaction, and the cool use of portals in the jewelry heist. Remember to join the Agents of SHIELD (and other Marvel properties) discussion on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for the latest news and live tweets during the episode. And don’t forget to vote for your favorite CoulSass moment in the Facebook group as well! Read more…

ETFD 008- Point of Origin

Just when you thought you’d hear Darrell and Robert unanimously echo each other’s likes and dislikes again, we finally have a split decision for “Point of Origin,” the most recent episode of the Twilight Zone. Both of us liked the cast, the style, and let’s not forget there were (spoiler alert) aliens…just not exactly the kind you would expect from the Twilight Zone. So where do we differ? Check us out and join the conversation afterwards and let us know what you think. As always, our listener written and audio comments are some of the best parts of this podcast episode. Read More…

FC154- Sea Beasts

FC154- Sea Beasts

Why fear the sea? The same reason to see menace in the deep, dark unknown of space or the dense and dizzying claustrophobia of the forest: because it’s really hard to see what’s in there.

That leaves us to our imagination, and when is that ever a good idea? Here, then, are some of the most imaginative ways horror filmmakers terrorized us with tales of what lies beneath. Read More…
