Supergirl kicked off the CW DCTV crossover Crisis on Earth-X event. Our heroes were pitted against evil doppelgängers. Overgirl was Earth-X’s version of Kara. She crashed in Germany and is a General in love with Dark Arrow. The crossover centered around getting Overgirl a new heart, Kara’s heart.
Our heroes finally RSVP for Barry & Iris’ wedding and head over to Central City. Kara & Alex are both sad, drinking and commiserating about lost love. But Kara thinks the wedding can help them get their mojo back. They port over to Earth 1. People ask about Mon El, but she evades everyone but Barry. He gets the truth out of her and asks her for a favor. Alex is drinking scotch at the bar and is met by Sara. They drink shot for shot, make out, and have a one night stand.
Guardian is defending the resistance facility, but is killed by Dark Arrow. Dark Arrow and the Nazi’s now have a portal to Earth 1. Overgirl wants it ready in one day. Their forces crash Earth 1 and take on our heroes starting at Barry & Iris’ wedding. Arrow vs Dark Arrow, Sara & Alex vs Prometheus, Supergirl vs Overgirl. The rest of the heroes take on the Nazi troopers. The heroes are making headway but it takes a super clap from Supergirl to take down her dark doppelgänger and force the Nazi’s to fall back. Reverse Flash (wearing Wells’ Face) is angry, but will get over it.
The next three episodes of the crossover have Kara and Alex at the center. It seems that Overgirl is going to die unless she has a heart transplant. Her husband Ollie will not allow that, so he is going to take out the heroes to get to Kara. Wells will be the surgeon to take Kara’s heart (after she is dosed with red sun rays) and transplant it into Overgirl.
Alex and the other heroes are captured and put in an Earth-X concentration camp. But they are rescused by the resistance. Citizen Cold (Leo Snart) his lover The Ray (from Earth 1) and the resistance General Schott save them, but Wynn just wants to trap the Furhrer on the other side. Alex works hard to convince him to let them try and get over first. With help they make it to the facility and get through.
Overgirl dies and goes supernova, but Kara gets her into space first. Dark Arrow is killed by Ollie and Barry defeats Reverse Flash, but lets him go. The day is saved but Stein is mortally wounded in the process and takes the serum to free Jax and dies. But not all is sad. Diggle marries Barry & iris in the park as well as Ollie & Felicity. Kara and Alex are feeling much better and return to their earth. Snart sticks around for a while.
We all complained about last season not having a true 4 way crossover. They answered our complaints this year fully. With Kara & Alex playing major rolls. This was, for the most part, a great crossover. The action was amazing. The special effects were great. The story was good and most of the time believable. We have grown to love the characters of these show over several seasons, so for a lot of us this crossover seemed a lot better than the Justice League movie.
Melissa Benoist got to stretch her vocal chops by singing “Runnin’ Home To You” as Kara for Barry & Iris’s wedding. Take a Listen

A Thanks & A Welcome:
Well you may have noticed a difference in this week’s blog post. Emilee, our Miss Ice, has decided to step down from the podcast and we will all miss her. I’ve posted her message to you below.
Good evening all –
It has come time for me to part ways with Supergirl and, as a result, to step away from the podcast. As much as I enjoy the camaraderie with all of you incredible people, I don’t really think I’m being fair to myself or to any of you by continuing on with a show that I’ve grown rather distant from. So rally around Karen! Give her some love, some feedback, and continue being the awesome people you are. And don’t be a stranger.
The Scarlet Cougar does not want to leave you podcast-less, so she has recruited John McGrail (also co-host of Triplecast) as our new permanent co-host. That means he needs a new super hero name. He is The Silver Vox! While no one can fill Emilee’s shoes and the podcast will change because of the host dynamic, we hope you will stick with us and give us grace in the transition. Until John gets up to speed with the blog posts, I’ll (Geoff a.k.a. xforce11) be filling in a bit. We are so thankful for this community of great people who care for us, leave us great feedback and join us on the Facebook discussions. Maid of Steel and Golden Spiral Media are nothing without you! Thanks!
Next Week: “Reign”
REIGN CHALLENGES SUPERGIRL – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) investigates a mysterious symbol popping up all over National City, tracing its origins back to an ancient prophecy and the mark of the World Killer, Reign (Odetee Annable). Meanwhile, the tension between Lena (Katie McGrath) and Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) continues to build, causing James to step in and offer up some protection, and possibly igniting a spark in the process. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish (#309). Original airdate 12/4/17.
We want you to be part of the podcast! After a new episode airs, head over to our feedback page and drop us a quick line, or record a short voicemail, reacting to the events of the episode. What was interesting to you? What stood out? What did the episode do well or, perhaps, what did it not do well? We rely on your input to help round out our conversation and anticipate the opportunity to include your thoughts and theories!
