Did you hear the one about the Eternals and the crashing planets? No? Well you are in luck! This week you can hear us discuss this weeks episode of “Doctor Who” titled “Can You Hear Me?’ In this seventh episode of season 12, the Doctor and Fam explore fear and what it means to them. Along the way they will question what the future holds, battle alien werewolves, and meet new ancient adversaries!
“Can You Hear Me?” is a perfectly paced, well written, and beautiful character examination of the Doctor and her friends. The story begins when our favorite group of space and time faring friends try to take some time and reconnect with home. It’s a lot easier said than done. each member of the party finds that they feel slightly out of place at home. As if that weren’t bad enough, strange things seem to be happening to them in what should be normal situations. Graham is playing cards with friends when he has a vision of a woman in distress. Yaz has strange and disturbing dreams only to find that when she wakes up, there is a strange and mysterious man in her room that quickly dissolves into thin air. Ryan finds his best mate in an attempt to reconnect. He soon discovers that things aren’t quite right here either. Somehow, all this ties into the strange alien werewolves the Doctor is investigating in 1380 Syria!
As Wayne and Jada review what they liked and didn’t like about the episode, they also discuss listener feedback and go over unanswered questions and share fan theories. Remember, don’t blink, don’t even blink.

Did we really learn something huge on Yaz? I’m going to have to disagree with you two here, yes we got some backstory on her finally but we still don’t know why exactly it was she ran away. The police officer asked if it was because her parents didn’t get how stressed out she was possibly over school but we never hear young Yaz say if that was actually why she ran away or not and if it was what happened; as some fans have hoped this could be a tease towards Yaz’s sexual orientation and maybe she fears her parents freaking out over her choice of loves or it could be honestly anything because that scene didn’t reveal that much honestly. At most it showed us who maybe got Yaz into being a cop but still we didn’t see them share a moment discussing why Yaz is paying her off now; that’s the really frustrating part when it comes to Yaz both in this and last season – we get these teased moments but she has yet to really have any payoff…not compared to the boys anyways who get time to show how plots effect them. It was interesting but I think they still have work to do when it comes to giving Yaz’s moments the same treatment as Ryan’s and Graham’s stories get each week.
An “out of time” companion could be a lot of fun just for humor alone if they did it right. 🙂
It’s always great to see Grace!
For me the werewolves were way scarier than the fingers in the ears; the fingers were meh to weird but not really scary. Ha.
The animated Disney movies are pretty good but the Disney Channel is fun also. I know Disney owns them now but I personally don’t really see Marvel films or the “Star Wars” series as Disney films given they were around before Disney got involved with them, they aren’t a Disney creation like everything else you listed they’re just an acquisition.
Ever since they showed Susan on Capaldi’s desk the season before last I have been waiting for that to get paid off; if nothing else just talk about Susan to the family!
