This was a really crazy episode of Debris (especially that closing scene), and we aren’t quite sure what to make of it! “Asalah” answers so many questions – how Bryan met Maddox, why Bryan was in prison, who the young woman is in the photo that he carries around with him and why he carries it around with him (which is not what many of us assumed), why Bryan has been getting mysterious injections (sort of), whether or not his having been cloned back in the second episode would have lasting ramifications (it has), and how Bryan got the scar on his chin. The aforementioned closing scene brought new questions to the surface, however, such as who Black Water Grandfather is and what the deal is with the metals and the black wind that are mentioned in the voiceover narrative. We only have two episodes left this season, and we can’t wait to see where the last bit of this season is headed! Loved your review! My hunch: Influx targeted Bryan drawing on memories stored in debris network and using piece of debris to intercept and control Mariel. Mariel grabs Bryan’s arm to control his thoughts. War memories chosen as a way to further erode Bryan’s hope and belief in his government and his openness with others. (Note: Ep 10 ended with Anson grabbing wrist of guard to set us up for ep 11.). Mariel’s extended arm might have been a way to transfer debris energy and observation capabilities from Mariel to Bryan. Bryan emerges from incident more guarded and determined to protect himself from investing in others. Seems even distant with Finola, and definitely with Maddox. Last scene suggests debris here for generations with phases of impact. Reminiscent of War of the Worlds. Rating 8.75 idiopathic neurological events.
