We are back baby…woo hoo! 🙂 YEAH!!!!!
It’s the season 5 premiere of Arrow “Legacy” and The Shadow, Podcast Overload and Cammie have lots to say. What we liked, what we’re concerned about and where we think the season may be going.
As always we love getting feedback from the Arrow Squad so please send in your thoughts on the show and our podcast. We LOVE to hear from our listeners…

Is Shadow saying he’s a vampire…if so does he sparkle? 🙂
I totally get what Cammie is saying in you never want to see a character just be another’s romance partner, you want them to be fleshed out as well, but didn’t they say Felicity’s big thing this season was going to be her emotional fallout from the Havenrock explosion? So maybe she’s still suppressing some of the emotions to help Oliver currently but it’s going to come raging back in the coming episodes; I’m hoping it will because I don’t want to see her without a solo plot for half the season unlike others. Personally I’d still love to see her back in the chair, but maybe that’ll be cliffhanger at some point this season also!
I agree I don’t want Olicity back together instantly because that would feel cheap and inorganic after all they put them through regarding the handling of William last season so they do need to work some things out for half a season but at the end I would like to see them together again.
Thea had some really good beats this episode. The not forced plots was really nice. I agree with Kevin regarding Curtis’s reasons for wanting to join the team. I love what Cammie said about wanting Felicity to stay unmasked but still having a hero’s story line; I too hope she stays unmasked because that’s one of the unique things about Felicity – while everyone else is hiding their identities she’s doing things out in the open…now granted she had the whole Overwatch thing in S4 but that was just her wanting a name like everyone else had because it made her feel part of the team and true if she was actually in the field she might wear a mask but I kind of think Felicity would be like “Screw it.” too because she’d come up with a valid argument against masks so she’d be herself out there or at best in a suit like Ray’s where you can clearly still see who’s inside. Cammie had some great points regarding Felicity in this podcast episode!
Helena’s father was dead already; he was killed by a cop who was after vigilantes at the end of “Birds Of Prey”. If these are little details from Flashpoint I hope they make a big deal out of it because as someone who doesn’t watch “Flash” regularly I’d be completely lost when they start talking about how it’s a part of certain events; as Kevin said depending on the plot I’m not sure how I’d feel about Flashpoint affecting it – some times it may be better but others it could ruin what was previously great just because they want to say “Flashpoint was here too.”…they’ll have to balance it carefully, that’s one of the hard parts to crossovers and having everything in the same universe. It could have been a cousin also who made his way to the head of the family.
Huntress is awesome; such an under rated character in the DCU! Sadly I doubt it will be Jessica who plays her if she shows up but I’d love to see her on “Supergirl” given the history between Helena and Kara. Helena isn’t a villain, she’s an anti-hero. 🙂
I have to say your podcast comments made me enjoy the episode more thinking back on it than I did watching it; maybe it was because it was such a shift in tone between this and season four I didn’t really know how to feel about it but after this discussion I’d rate it higher than I previously did because there were some great things as you all said.
Just as a clarification, it was Oliver who I think took a step back with his aggressiveness by shooting Wild Dog for no real reason, that seriously made no sense, and killing the bad cop when you can argue who would believe him if he said Oliver was Arrow; Thea was great I loved her stuff. Sadly I don’t think Flashpoint is going to bring Laurel back, it would be great if it did but I don’t think that’s going to happen; as a side point: does Sara know she’s dead because that could make for some good, tense moments in the crossovers!
I’m okay with Oliver killing when the situation calls for it, but killing just to kill to make it darker no; you can violently injure bad guys without killing them…again gratuitous killing feels like a step back for Oliver without much merit. Yes Laurel died but depending on how you feel about that plot that’s either not a good reason because you feel that plot is bull or not enough of a reason because you have everyone saying Laurel wouldn’t want that and by killing he actually disrespects Laurel in a way which isn’t good. It’d be one thing if Thea didn’t come help him at all even though she was back, Diggle refused to talk to him, and Felicity checked out because of her issues but that didn’t happen so it just feels he has more reason not to kill than to kill but if he’s going to kill I want them to touch on it and have the characters debate it like Thea did with him. It’s such a rich plot point it’d be a shame to see it never get it’s time.
It’s going to be fun to see Curtis’s transformation. Hopefully Lyla will return with Diggle when he shows up because she’s badass! Martin’s rankings each week will be interesting. “Supergirl” season 1 was AWESOME!!!
Can we chose the form Cammie appears in behind us? If so I vote for Helena, Felicity, Nyssa, or Oliver’s abs…her choice! Ha.
A good podcast return for a good episode; I look forward to the next!
