Welcome to The Stranger Things Podcast! Join us as we journey through the mysterious happenings of Hawkins, Indiana and the Netflix original series, Stranger Things.
The Stranger Things Podcast pairs the father-daughter duo of Darrell and Addi Darnell. Our approach to the podcast will be unique. Addi is a Stranger Things super fan. She’s seen the show multiple times, active on Stranger Things social media websites, loves to talk about Stranger Things with her friends, and is about the same age as the main actors on the show.
On the other side of the studio, Darrell is viewing the show one episode at a time, each for the first time as each podcast episode is recorded. He’ll be trying to figure out what’s going on, while Addi tries her best not to give too much away or spoil him. As a child of the 80’s Darrell was very close to the age of the characters during the time frame in which the story is set. He’ll be able to identify with many of the pop culture and technological components of the show, and will share his thoughts on those subjects each episode.

This is in response to the comment someone made about intergraded friend groups in the 80’s for episode 7 of season 2. When I came up in the 80’s my brothers and I were some of only few minorities at our school. If you didn’t intergrade then you had no friends.
There were four in my best friend group, one was Native American, one was Korean, one was white and I was black. My brother’s best friend group were composed of some white kids and some Puerto Rican kids, but he was the only black kid in the group, same as me. This could be because I grew up in a small town, it was military but small though.
In 84-85 most of our friends were white and I don’t think anyone had an issue with it (if so no one said so in front of us). We were in Elementary School though not middle school. But I do know that some of my friends’ older siblings dated other races.
Thanks for the podcast. I had only seen the first episode of Stranger Things when I discovered your podcast about a week ago. I have been watching the episodes and listening to your podcasts spoiler first time through. I will try Lost series next. It sounds good! Thank care.
This is for episode 7, season 2. I found it interesting that Jane’s sister was named Kali. This is a name of a Hindu destroyer god and she is bent on destruction.
For season 2, episode 8, why was Bob the only one the demo-dogs ate? They killed everyone else but actually ate Bob. Does he taste better than the scientists? EL Ritter
