In episode 244 of The Revolution Podcast we are excited to bring you our exclusive interview with co-executive producer and writer of NBC’s Revolution, David Rambo. We spoke with David the day after the Revolution series finale aired on NBC.
David shared his story about how he got into writing and what the writing process is like for him. He also shares some fun moments from the Revolution writers room, and how other works from Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, and The Twilight Zone influenced Revolution.
We also asked David the question that fans have been asking since the early episodes of Revolution season 1, “Is Miles the true father of Charlie?” His answer will probably surprise you! Additionally, we spoke with David about what fans would have seen in season 3, if Aaron’s pendant would have played a part, and was there really a light in the middle of the ocean shown in an early Revolution promotion video? Of course, Jeremy had to find out if time travel would have played a part in the series!
We wrap up the conversation by asking David about the chances of Revolution living on in some other form or on another network, and what projects the writers have lined up next. David also surprised us with a very interesting story about work he has done for George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch!

The fact that Rambo would say that the writers were thinking of developing a “relationship” between Rachel and Monroe just shows how out of touch the “creative forces” were with their audience!! He even says “sorry Charloe” fans! That the writers knew that fan base exists and to just thumb their nose at those loyal fans just shows how arrogant they are!!
As much as I am going to miss this show, I’m almost happy these arrogant fools are unemployed.
I could not disagree with your statement any more. First, there are a LOT more Miles and Rachel fans than any other segment. He did acknowledge that there is a group of Charloe fans out there as well. I didn’t get the impression that they were going to develop a relationship with Monroe and Rachel as much as they were going to explore what already happened between them. There was NOTHING arrogant about David and just because the writers don’t go in a direction that some fans think they should does not make him or any of the other writers arrogant. For me personally, I would have NO INTEREST in seeing a relationship between Charlie and Monroe and I think there are more fans that feel that way than there are that would like to see it. Secondly, all of those “arrogant fools” are already employed again so I hope that doesn’t upset you too much.
I agree. I’m one of those that would have been turned off by a relationship between Charlie and Monroe and would have stopped watching the show if that was the path taken by the writers. Charlie was sleeping with his son and seemed to be fond of Connor and Monroe slept with her mother and seemed to be attracted to Rachel. Besides I can’t forget that the Monroe’s militia killed her father and her brother. Charlie is completely innocent and shouldn’t get romantically or sexually involved with the man who destroyed her world.
Charlie inocent.? She killed a lot of people, slept with guys just because she was bored, She is a grown up woman, by the way rachel destroyed the entire worl not monroe, and according to polls, charloe win by far
I know Charlie has killed people too. However, Charlie is innocent because she lived a peaceful life with her brother and father when the Monroe militia came in and destroyed her world by killing her father and capturing her brother and then eventually killing her brother. It would have been completely illogical for Charlie to get sexually or romantically involved with the man who destroyed her family. Rachel is no innocent, she ended the world, indeed.
Look, you’re wrong ..charlie shippers are much more numerous than their detractors .. take a walk on the internet and see how many fans there are ..
Kimberly and mardarrell, writers are stubborn because the still want to explore a relation with monroe and rachel, that is more disgusting than charloe. Rachel cheated on ben and miles with monroe? Come on most of us hated that awful kiss, we hate rachel character and love monroe, and you said monroe killed charlie’s brother, Yes, danny was rachel son, that is worse. Besides both of you say some charloe fans! What? There are a lot of polls, vídeos in youtube and do you know what! Charloe wins by far. So Yes, may be they are not arrogant, but stupid and if charloe happens and you dont watch revolution anymore, dont worry that most of the audience will watch this, and more people thAn you think because people loves chemistry,intriguing situations, sparks, and charloe gives us that, and remember it is fanatasy, it is not real life. Be sure that most girls if were 22 and a man as charming as monroe appears, screw the age difference. It is an apocalyptic time, they are not getting married, please.
Rachel didn’t cheat on Ben and Miles with Monroe. She was Monroe’s prisoner, which means she wasn’t with Ben any more and she certainly wasn’t with Miles. Besides, Rachel is no innocent, she was behind the blackout and she turned herself in to Miles. That’s the reason she ends up being Monroe’s prisoner. So even if the Monroe militia killed her son, Rachel is also partially responsible for his death because she decided to abandon her family and gave herself up to the militia. Rachel once said to Charlie it was her fault that Danny died because she had him back and didn’t take care of him, as a mother should do. It would have been much more logical and interesting to explore the Rachel and Monroe relationship considering what already happened between them and all Rachel’s guilt over Danny’s death. Not to mention that what happened between them was before Danny and Ben died.
According to monroe nobody forced her, she was alone, bored, i dont know, so in a way she cheated on ben, but that is not the point. The problem is that writers continúe to get stuck in season one, they have to move on. It is over, end of story, they had sex ok, why continue with that. We dont need a soap ópera. As far as charloe conocerns, of course they are not gettining marries, but we just ask for one love or hot scene or more time together because it is undeniable their chemistry, writers should have taken advantage of that, the way they look at each other without sayin a word is awosome, just look at the polls in internet, most of the audience want charloe, even tracy said in an interview that her grandma was upset when bass kissed rachel because he should have kissed charlie. And we are commenting here because of charloe so it is an interesting issue to debate because some people want that and some says it is wrong. And controversial thinng attract audiences, not boring and predictable thing as connor and charlie
