12 Monkeys Uncaged Episode 45 – Season 4 Night 1 with Terry Matalas
The first chapter of 12 Monkeys season 4 has finally arrived, and fans all over the U.S. were glued to their seats as night 1 unfolded, including 401 “The End,” 402 “Ouroboros,” and 403 “45 RPM,” and the three episodes together really felt like the first chapter of the final tale. The story of the Witness took center stage as the team struggled to find a unified purpose.
Terry Matalas joins Mike for this first night of discussion, and the 12 Monkeys showrunner has plenty to share about this opening run of episodes. We speculate on the nature of the Seers, Jones’ new approach to the mission, Deacon’s not-so-surprising duplicity, Cassie’s one last attempt to take out the Witness, and how revisiting the first splinter changes how we see the overall series.
SPOILER WARNING!
For those not watching on Syfy, please be warned that this podcast contains spoilers for season 4 episodes 1, 2, and 3. Do not listen until you have seen all of these episodes. And don’t forget, Mike and Cory will be doing their weekly discussion one episode at a time, so be sure to send in your feedback to goldenspiralmedia.com/feedback each Saturday by 6pm ET.

Each night does feel like it’s own chapter to the season story which is actually really neat; I’m glad they’re spacing out the season too to give fans time to digest the episodes because as neat as it was to binge the last season in a week it was also a lot to take in in one hit.
Here’s my feelings on Cassie – if I was in the show world I wouldn’t trust her for anything, she is just as dark as she says Jones is if not more! While I’m not crazy about Cassie I do love she’s unapologetic about the dark moments she does bring on; she’s a great character to watch and Amanda plays her so well!
“How The Witness Got Her Groove Back” – ha!
Per usual Jennifer was HILARIOUS in her opening!
Jones is definitely one of my favorites to watch; the double Jones scene was good but Jones has pretty much stolen every scene to me beyond when Jennifer is in the screen.
This was a great block to like Ramsey again; some fans still may never be able to forgive him but it was a nice scene to show he wasn’t always the bad guy and just how easy it is to lose yourself in all of this.
I feel Cassie is going to regret not killing Olivia in the jail.
My crazy fan theory is still Jennifer is Cole’s mom.
This was a good return 3 episode set.
A very cool recap with the showrunner!
