The quest for zero matter takes a detour as none other than Dottie Underwood assists in getting a sample to save Dr. Wilkes in Life of the Party. But Agent Carter must then decide if her righteous cause is worth her job at the SSR in Monsters. This double header really accelerated the pace of the story nicely!

Speaking of “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.”, did you see the promo for the new season during this episode? I have to say it seemed more like “Agents Of I.N.H.U.M.A.N.S.” than “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” so I’m not really thrilled with this promo; hopefully the others will be better, but I really missed seeing May and Jemma and Fitz in the promo. If they were there it was so fast I don’t notice. Super powers can be neat, but I do miss the feel of non powered people dealing with powered people like S1. Regarding Bobbi, it will be sad to see her and Hunter go, but given the spin-off you know it’s coming; based off the promo though it looks like we’ll get a lot of Bobbi on the way out so there’s that!
Peggy trying to tough it out to finish the mission, so Peggy. I like they picked up with a still injured Peggy instead of jumping to weeks after that she’s healed. I love the Dottie and Peggy stuff in the cell. Dottie and Whitney have definitely been two of my favorites this season. “I’ll be sure to return it one day with a choker of my own.” – the banter between Dottie and Peggy is always great.
I liked the fight scene with Dottie until they showed Jack getting in two great hits to her, that felt inorganic to me; had it been one hit then she hit him back and he got in the second hit that might have been one thing but him getting two good direct hits back to back seems inconsistent to Dottie’s fighting skills. I’m not surprised Cal betrayed Whitney or that she killed some of the members, it was still a good scene to see play out because for a second I thought maybe they were going to have Cal on her side and how might that affect things; also loving how Dottie continues to stay one step ahead of the team. The end scene to the first episode was good.
The love triangle stuff continues to be my least favorite part of the season, I don’t know if it’s just the fact it’s a triangle or if it’s the guys don’t really feel worthy of Peggy so I don’t care when that’s the focus but those scenes definitely slow down the episodes for me. Wilkes feels more worthy currently than Sousa but his attitude in this episode put me off at times. I would have rather learned more about Mrs. Jarvis than see all the triangle stuff because she was much more interesting to me. I loved the face-off scenes between Whitney and Dottie. I liked the “Iron Man” reference with the palladium core comment. While the Whitney Frost, Dottie Underwood, and Peggy while she was with them moments were good the rest of the episodes kind of disappointed me. There were other good moments within the episode such as Peggy and Jarvis at the very end and Jarvis and his wife before the mission to get Dottie back, but overall I was honestly partially bored; I hope next week’s two hour special is better than this one.
I chalk Whitney’s accelerated skills up to one) a short season so we have to get them in there for story reasons and two) she got lucky in the activation and control; had the season been longer we might have seen Whitney building up to this scene more. Interesting question about can Whitney be hurt physically right now.
