In this prequel episode of Dark Matter: an Extant podcast, we take the time to introduce ourselves and talk about what we know about Extant, the new summer sci-fi series on CBS. There isn’t a whole lot of information out there about this show (and that can be a good thing!), but what little we do know points to the possibility of this being an engaging, deeply nuanced show full of conspiracy plots and mysteries to discuss.
You’ve got to hear the story of how the pilot script came to end up in the hands of executive producer, Steven Spielberg, and how Halle Berry decided to take her first ever series regular role on television. We also discuss the “sci-fi cred” of other members of the cast and what roles they play in the series. Finally, we share our concerns and hopes for this show, which we’re obviously taking a gamble on, sight unseen!
