Welcome to the wacky space race of an episode called “The Ghost Monument”…oh, and welcome back to the TARDIS! Listen as Wayne and I discuss everything from flying bandages to the new TARDIS interior!
On this week’s episode of Doctor Who, we rejoin our cast of adventurers as they unexpectedly found floating in the vacuum of space. What ensues next is a beautiful and cinematic story about strangers becoming friends and old friends finding each other. It takes character growth and melds it into the plot in an organic and pleasing way. How can you go wrong with a space race, exploding cigars, and a mysterious Ghost Monument?
For the second week in a row, Doctor Who has delivered a great performance from both cast and crew. What are you waiting for? Step into the TARDIS and join us!

My favorite elements of this episode were probably just the characters themselves because while the planet felt slow at times they filled the space enough it didn’t feel draggy.
As someone who watches CW shows Wayne I’d say it can be worse; DW was subtle on the gun talk compared to other series so I actually found it refreshing and wasn’t as bothered by it personally.
Well said regarding the Tardis being a character itself; sometimes locations or props can become so important and so big they become characters of their own – the screwdriver is another example, it might not feel like Who to some if that wasn’t in at least one episode during seasons.
We’ll see the Stenza again for sure because they wouldn’t have them in this episode following the first if they weren’t coming back, possibly the season end bad guys. We might see one of the competitors return to help Doctor near the end but I don’t think we’ll see the race head again this season. We may see him again in the series but this season I don’t think so unless it’s also at the very end as someone supplying the Stenza to tie it all together.
Epso was ok but I did like Angstrom more.
I’d rate this an 8.75 runs home.
I’m okay with the new Tardis; the outside is cooler I’d argue but I like cop stuff. I like the organism feel to the walls but the center console isn’t grabbing me as much as previous versions. As a whole though again it’s good.
I’d FULLY agree, I’m good with a minimum of 45 episodes of Jodie as Doctor with at least 15-20 episodes being this trio of companions with her and 20-45 being Yaz maybe with her into next season picking up some newbies at least, maybe Yaz leaves before the 45th episode but she’s in until 40 at least. I’d also accept Ryan in for some of those duo episodes maybe before going back to be with his grandad Graham. I’d be fine with her topping Smith’s 54 run if they went that way also but at minimum comparing her to others I’d say she earned 45 episodes just based on her work in the first two episodes without question with a possibly for 50 at the end of the day if not more again – but that’s me.
I’m definitely hoping we see Ryan and Graham come together in a true familial way by time they leave the show. They’re slowly getting there but I want to hear Ryan call Graham granddad before they leave the show; I think that would be a great full circle for them!
