CCU 74 Season 3 Episode 5
MONSTER
Episode 5 of season 3 brought some mixed reviews, but there was a lot to love. Here are some thoughts from Joe:
Monster – The Flash, Season 3, Episode 5
So this is HR Wells. (SPOILERS BELOW. DEAR GOD, STOP READING! SPOOOOOOILLLLLERS!)
So he’s…not so much a scientist as an…author? He’s a goofball with a heart of gold and really not much to offer Team Flash? I gotta admit, I’m not without my concerns. I’m a tad bit uncertain about the whole “revolving-door-of-Harrys” Not that Tom Cavanaugh isn’t up to the task. If you told me he’d be playing a 14-year-old Russian ballerina, I’d say “Yeah, I can see it.” I just don’t know what the point is beyond keeping him on the show, and I guess that just isn’t enough for me. Do I think the Flash has jumped the shark? (or King Shark?) No, not at all. But I swear I heard a motorcycle revving up for a second.
That being said…Tom Felton? Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn, Tom Felton! How did that happen?! How did I end up legitimately liking and caring about Julian by the end of the episode!? I’m really, really hoping he’s not Dr. Alchemy now. And as for the “Monster” the show is titled after…what if it wasn’t the killer hologram, or Caitlyn’s ice-queen mom? What if it was the infamous green eyed monster aka jealousy…embodied by our old pal Julian?
Oh, this episode. So many things to ponder, so many emotions to process. I’m gonna sit and think and maybe finish off the Big Belly Burger that Barry left behind.
