Case Profile for Mato

Tom reunites with Red and Kaplan, after Mato took Agnes from the car crash. Liz and Kirk have crash issues of their own as their sea plane plummets into the ocean. And where Mato is a cool guy, this episode was not about him. Once Liz and Kirk make it to dry land we see a place called the Summer Palace, that apparently young Liz has been too before. Katarina Rostova returns in a flashback that adult Liz remembers. But remember, the memories of young child are not reliable. Red and Kaplan finally have the show down leaving all of Blacklist nation asking the question, what the hell just happened. The boys break it down and what all the subtext means on this weeks episode.

Be sure to answer our profiling question of the week: What will Kaplan do next?. Visit our feedback page to leave a response or call +1 (304) 837-2278.

Red’s Rhetoric

Welcome to Red’s Rhetoric that part of the show where we play two scenes from this week’s episode and then YOU get to vote which you think is the best one here below. Last week was a lot closer than expected as #RedLane only won by the slimmest of margins with 54% of the vote. This week, our first clip comes when Red talks to Mato about the after life. Our second clip comes when Red gives Kaplan a real estate lesson. Which was your favorite this week? If you prefer holes in your coffin to a concrete box vote #RedSpirit or if you would like a plot of land untouched by man vote #RedAcre.

The Music of Mato

As Elizabeth flashbacks back to her youth at the Summer Palace we hear “Where You Are” by Portico featuring Jono McCleery. As a young Masha and her mother bury a coffee can with a bracelet inside in the garden; older Elizabeth digs up the coffee can from the garden and removes the bracelet. As Dembe drives Red and Mr. Kaplan out into the woods we hear Gordon Lightfoot’s “If You Could Read My Mind”. Red gives Kaplan a plot of land just before shooting her. As Red walks away, Mr. Kaplan grasps a patch of grass as she clings on to life.

You can hear these songs via the official Blacklist playlist on Spotify or the same playlist recreated by us on Apple Music.
