Some information about this episode

7727600_1064758567We got a big reveal in the season one finale, and it turns out that Lucy’s mother also comes from a Rittenhouse family. *AUDIBLE GASP*

After a brief search, I’ve found a decent candidate for the Preston Ancestor. There was a Col. William Preston who was instrumental in the westward expansion of the United States, and helped to found several prestigious colleges in the east. He was one of the thirteen signers of the Fincastle Resolutions, a predecessor to the United States Declaration of Independence.

His descendants include many people of great power. Politicians, University Deacons & Founders, Cabinet Members, and other influential folks. The Prestons’ son James Patton Preston, was governor of Virginia from 1816–1819 and helped charter the University of Virginia, and their grandson William Ballard Preston, was a Congressman, Secretary of the Navy under Zachary Taylor, and later a Senator from the Confederate States of America.

I am not, nor have I ever been, a time-traveler

McCarthy&WyattOur time-team visits Senator McCarthy, who essentially made his name from bullying celebrities and politicians about being communists. Wyatt and Lucy have an ace up their sleeve though, since they know already that he’s on the wrong side of history. Wyatt outclasses the Senator’s thugs easily as a highly trained soldier, and the pair manage to get away, despite Flynn’s setup.

Before they escape, Flynn corners Lucy and he tells her his plan to kill the entire Rittenhouse gathering, including her grandfather. He does it under the guise of apologizing, but we suspect it’s more of a call for another option.

Taking the red-eye to San Francisco

One of the threads from the finale that was left open for a possible season two is that Jiya developed some ill effects from stowing away in the time ship. Apparently (even though it was never stated previously), the ship isn’t made for more than three passengers, and there are consequences for someone who has no assigned seat.

Not only do the blood vessels in her right eye burst, she has seizures and gets a flash of the past near the end of the episode. Many theories have been floated on reddit and in blog posts, but unless we get a second season I’m afraid we won’t know for sure what’s actually going on.

Triple… Agent Man

Well, it turns out that Connor wasn’t one of the bad guys after all. He used the access to the NSA servers that he bartered for AGAINST Rittenhouse instead of FOR them. He teams up with Agent Christopher in the present time while Lucy, Wyatt, Rufus, and Jiya get stuff from the past – and they build a case against hundreds of members of the cabalistic group.

While they manage to take down many people of power, it isn’t enough in the end. Emma is shown entering the Mothership while most Mason industry employees lay prone on the floor. Who is she Chauffeuring? What’s their goal? Another plot point for season two – let’s hope we get one!
